Claude Impact Lab Istanbul: An Earthquake Hackathon
I'm beyond exhausted today, but really happy with what we built. We hosted a Claude Impact Lab in Istanbul: 7 teams and 33 participants spent a full day working on our city's biggest risk, the earthquake. The fear from the August 17, 1999 earthquake is still with us. Today, on August 15, almost exactly 27 years later, we spent the whole day building solutions instead of just living with that fear. We didn't wait for the government, NGOs, or any officials to take action. We stepped up ourselves, as volunteers, and built tools for the risk we all share. The most amazing part is how close problem and product have become with Claude. Teams went from an idea to a working demo in just a few hours. Two years ago this would have been impossible in such a short time. Thanks Anthropic for sponsoring this event. Thanks QNBEYOND hosting us. And thanks Said Sürücü, Elif Yıldırım, PhD, Nurullah Açıkgöz organizing this event with me.
